Just an idea....

What motivated me to write on this, a couple of days back my brother very casually told me that his company is probably going to have a scheme where the employees would be able to exchange their old mobile phones and a few thousand bucks with brand new BlackBerry phones and since my brother just got a new touch screen phone he asked me to keep it (when he gets, in case) as it’s a good offer.

Now, see the beauty of the not so promising bold italics above, I actually started living that idea and researching on BB phone features, telecom schemes and the second hand price I would get on my existing phone. I don’t know whether I am going to get that or not but it surely made my day and took me into a different space altogether.

Sharing one more experience which I would never forget for the rest of my life. My dad is a govt employee; when I was in the 5th standard he told us (family) that the govt is planning to have their department trip to elephanta caves and the proposal would be passed soon, you won’t believe it I didn’t get sleep for 2 days I was so enthu about it, finally days and weeks passed, then my final exams came, I was desperately praying to God that the trip doesn’t get finalized during the exams else I won’t be able to attend, God heard that but in a different way. Today, I am doing my MBA and my dad is 4 years to retiring and we both are clueless where the proposal got stuck and have a good laugh on it.

I just imagine how bland the world would be if each one of such doesn’t have a positive thought idea in place. When our parents hold our hands they plant an idea in their mind that we would do the same when they get old. When we are in the semesters we have this positive idea that the syllabus is manageable and could be done during the exams.

The very positive feeling towards that idea gives us more than half of what that idea would actually give when materialized. When am blogging I have planted the idea that people would like it and they think similarly as I do and when they really like it and comment, nothing like that.

However a important point to note is that humans behave quite differently when the ideas get realized, they tend to get complacent asking themselves “Was is that important ?” and start running after other ones.
We as generations are passing the idea to each succeeding one, a better and faster world and are very much attaining so.

All said and done….but I really love the beauty of how the mind works…JJ

ALL THIS……….JUST  A THOUGHT !!!

Management lessons- Mumbai locals

Born and brought up in Mumbai, I always had quite an experience with the local trains, however, I never took it in the sense that the trains also teach us everything daily.
I realized this when I shifted to Bhayander, half a dozen months back and started my MBA course as well, a month here and there.
The first day was simply amazing and scary, amazing in the sense that I didn’t go to office that day and scary as I wasn’t allowed to go to in a way as boarding the Virar train is something next to impossible for a first timer.
After a few weeks here and there, I now think that I am quite settled.
Especially in this lines of the Mumbai locals I feel I have learnt a lot
Here are my key lessons learnt

Time Management
In case you are late for a train which starts from your resident station, you are late for a day by a huge amount…….it’s not that simple that you would get to board the next few trains.
Same happens if you don’t follow deadlines on a project, you lose the reputation.

Understanding Groups
It is very important to understand the groupism in these virar locals where they won’t let you inside in case you are not a known face even if there’s space inside, they block the entry and you can’t do anything about it.
Same is the case when you are assigned to a new team or a project that’s not ready to accept you and you don’t know what to do or how to reason out

Getting into the comfort zone
Once you get somewhat safely inside a train, in a few seconds you get into your comfort zone and don’t bother if you need to move further inside to give someone else space who might be leaning to death outside, you start behaving like the group.
Even in the case of a job you do the same, in the first few months you really slog it out but then you get into your comfort zone and are least bothered, this is when you stop thinking.

Job and frustration
If you see the man standing in the aisle of the 3-seater on either side, you would realize that he is the calmest man on earth…though he is not getting to sit and he is standing out there in frustration, he would always give and keep your bags on the rack without cribbing.
In the same way, sometimes in our job we might be quite frustrated and lost but we should never allow that to get onto us, it should not affect our family and friends or show on our face

The Opportunity
Whenever you are standing in a local train besides the seat there is no guarantee which person would get up and whether you would get a seat or not and if yes then when….that’s something very dicy
Same thing happens in your team when you don’t know when your team member would leave and you might get a opportunity or when your quitting might give him an opportunity

Control your temper
It is very easy to lose your temper in these crowded local trains, you get n number of reasons to do that, but as we all know that this sometimes leads to a big issue out of a very small one.
Same is the case in our personal life as well, we give some trivial matters/people so much importance that it becomes a matter of life or detah.

AIRTEL - no AIR no TEL

Hello guys,
Just after seeing the new Airtel logo and design aired on TV I was wondering to myself as in what type of goof up has Airtel done here...my first immediate reaction was Yuckkkkk..........
My brother who works for Vodafone was telling me that his firm had been quite apprehensive about what is going to be the new logo and how would it impact them....hahahahahahaha...positive impact

Also, if talking in terms of actual numbers, the new airtel logo billed the company by 300 crs and the logo is said to be a 45 degree rotation of the new videocon logo with the vodafone look and feel.....

[ I just killed a mosquito....loved it to the core...was biting me very comfortably.....i wish i could provide them with a boon so that they can turn into something bigger but smaller than me so that i can feel physically satisfied by hitting them...I also love turning cockroaches upside down..:):)]

contd..
There is however a different aspect and learning from this according to me ( its obvious since its my blog..;))
Why does a organisation like Airtel need to do something stupid just for the sake of it...CHANGE fundas as we call
How can such a stupid idea be accepted and implemented in such a big organization....if thats the case then its just like a MBA team project where you just want to finish up the project and submit.
Or is it because some new face at a higher position came in the department and wanted to do something just to make his presence felt....similar to what "Dolly" did in Big Boss....well bad example...that was cheap (since this is my blog, get used to such irrelevant examples)

Well, all said and done, we all will get used to the logos over the course of time and forget the older one as if it matters to us but imagine if the logo were a employee and you just fire him for no reason whatsoever and now he is gone in some unknown territory never to return again....all this...JUST a THOUGHT

The start

Well... here i am.
I know you don't know me but i am telling this to myself as after lot of lazy tries I have finally created a blog of my own.
The best part about my blogs would be that it will be utter non sense and simple english (not for your understanding but actually that's my limitation)

My understanding about blogs is that its based on the greater fool theory
The greater fool theory in this case would imply that you would be a big FOOL to start a blog of your own...but chill, you will always get worse fools to read it..:):). Its always better to be on both sides hence I created my blog.

I think this is good GYAN for a start....otherwise it would be the start and end of my not so budding blogger journey.
